The book Ghosts is about a girl named Catrina, her family, and her little sister named Maya who has cystic fibrosis; there is no cure for that.
They are moving North and to the coast from southern California. When they get to their new house and they are halfway through unpacking, Maya must have one of her breathing treatments, but it blows a fuse, so Catrina takes her little sister to explore the new town.
Maya discovers a secret pathway and they end up at a closed arcade, where a boy tells them about a “ghost tour”, and they hurry out.
Later, Catrina goes to a place where people are celebrating Day of The Dead with their ghost relatives. With another ghost she goes flying with him on a “ghost tour” over the ocean.
I liked this book because it was very cultural, and it showed a lot of love.
