Review of Christine

By Stephen King

'Christine' is a horror novel about a 1958 Plymouth Fury that is possessed with a murderous, vengeful spirit. When Arnie first sees Christine, he falls head-over-heels in love with her, but his interest soon begins to warp into a dangerous obsession. Everybody except for Arnie notices something amiss - something sinister about Christine and the cruel new way Arnie acts. Very quickly, everyone who dared to cross Christine is brutally murdered, and it doesn't take long for the blame to shift to Arnie. But things aren't as simple as they seem, and Christine has no intention to be terminated any time soon. 'Christine' is a memorable book that isn't outright frightening but is well-paced and will instill a quiet sense of dread in the reader. Although some car jargon is used, it's not as confusing as it could be and makes sense in context. Recommended for older teens and adults.
