Review of Holes

By Louis Sachar

This was a good book. I really enjoyed it. I learned that friends care about each other and sometimes will do anything for the other.

This was a good book. This book taught me that sometimes people are not who you think. It also showes me that sometimes you loose friendships but you will make new stronger ones.

This was a good book. It has a good way to show how family relationships can be rocky but also get a lot better. This book taught us that families have a strong bond that is hard to break.

Review of wonder

By R.J.Palacio

This book is about a boy named August who was born different. By different I mean he has a condition that makes him look different than other kids. His condition is called mandibulofacial dysostosis. Its more commonly known as Treacher Collins Syndrome. It is a condition that affects that development of bones and other tissues in the face. Life has been hard on August everyone that sees him looks at him as extraordinary not a normal person. All except the friends he makes as he goes to school for the first time in his life. But he ends up loving it and having so much fun too.

Bannen tells the story of Jinghua, a princess of the Song Dynasty who becomes a slave to the Mongols. Everything she ever knew and loved is gone. In order to gain her freedom back, Jinghua is sent to kill the son of the khan of the Kipchack Khanate. When he helps Jinghua steal apples, she realizes that she doesn’t have the guts to kill anybody, much less someone who has shown honothing but kindness to her. This novel keeps readers on their feet as it’s filled with love, darkness, and major plot-twists.

Review of The Strange LIbrary

By Haruki Murakami

'The Strange Library' by Haruki Murakami is a vividly illustrated, surreal and twisting novel that follows a young boy's trip to the city library that quickly turns nightmarish. The young protagonist is led by his obedient and naive nature to an underground labyrinth beneath the library, where he must stay before meeting a grisly end. Eventually, he tries to escape with the help of the apologetic sheep man and a beautiful, ethereal girl who seems to only exist in the protagonist's and her worlds. This short, sparely written book will change how one thinks about libraries and life. You can read it many times and not get tired of it, 'The Strange Library'  was a very unique and enticing read. I would recommend it to everyone from middle schoolers to older adults.

Review of Blockade Billy

By Stephen King

'Blockade Billy' by Stephen King is a short novella about William 'Blockade Billy' Blakely and his short-lived baseball career, cut to an abrupt stop after the discovery of a major scandal. 'Blockade Billy'  is told from the perspective of one of Blakely's coaches as he is interviewed by the author long after the events take place. When the team loses both of its catchers shortly before the start of the season, Blakely arrives from Iowa to fill the spot. But something about the possibly mentally unsound Blakely doesn't add up, despite his phenomenal playing ability and quickly growing reputation. This story is written from a more uncommon perspective, one that really complements the story well. One doesn't need to know much about baseball to understand the plot, and not much jargon is used. I would recommend this suspenseful, intriguing read for high school students and adults.

Review of Who Was Dr.Suess?

By Janet B. Paschal

"Who was Dr.Suess?", is another incredible book in the "Who Was?", series. It is written byJanet B. Paschal and Nancy Harrison is illustrator. This wonderful book talks about the life of Dr.Suess and how he began to make his award-winning books. In summary, "Who Was Dr.Suess?", is a beautiful story of how he became famous over writing and illustrating children's books.

"The Sea of Monnsters", is a truly amazing book written by the author of  "The Lightning Thief", Rick Riordan. It is in Percy's point of view. In this book of the series, "Percy Jackson and the Olympians", Thalia's tree was dying, only because Luke poisoned it. As he said in the last book, Luke was going to bring Kronos back to life. The only thing that could fix both was the Golden Fleece. The Golden Fleece could heal anything. So as the journey begins, Percy, Annabeth, and Grover try to get the Fleece, while Luke is trying to get it to bring Kronos back to life.

Review of Fever 1793

By Laurie Halse Anderson

Full of twists and turns, as well as sadness, Fever 1793 is a page turner. The novel is based on a true epidemic of yellow fever the swept through Philadelphia, killing thousands of people. Readers see the growth of Mattie who starts as a careless adolescent and eventually becomes a very mature young woman who deeply cares about the well being of others. I recommend this novel to others- it’s both informative of our history and it’s incredibly moving.

Review of Rivals

By Tim Green

I liked the book Rivals  by Tim Green because it is a very funny book. I would grade it a 10/10 book because it is a mixture of sports and a little bit of friendship a bit of mystery. "The Strange Case of Origami Yoda", is an interesting book written by Tom Angleberger and Jason Rosenstock as illustrator. As the book is written, it is in Tommy's point of view. Later on in the first chapter, Tommy talks about Dwight, who is a stange guy who carries Origami Yoda around wherever he goes. Tommy states, "The strangest thing about Origami Yoda is that he is so wise even though Dwight is a total loser." This points out that tom thinks that Origami Yoda should not be with Dwight because they have almost nothing in common. Besides from taking Origami Yoda everywhere, Dwight does other weird things such as wearing the same t-shirt for a long time. Apart from being weird, Dwight has one cool perk, making origami. One time, he decided to make an origami finger puppet that looks like Yoda. When things start getting mysterious, Yoda begins to predict the future, and can suggest the best way to end a difficult conflict. As Dwight goes around with his origami finger puppet, he finds himself blocked by a whole line of sixth graders, who have questions for him. Tommy has to figure out the mystery before he takes ...

Review of Monkey King

By Patricia Chao

Patricia Chao's 'Monkey King' is a novel that flits through different points in time as well as through the memories of the protagonist, Sally Wang. Following a mental breakdown and a hospital stay, Wang is forced to confront a dark secret that she tried her whole life to forget and ignore. The story is written in a wry tone and tackles a lot of serious issues, such as suicide, depression, and abuse. There is a wide array of unique characters and settings. 'Monkey King' is a thought-provoking book that is good for older teens and adults.

The Complete Chi's Sweet Home Part 1 is a cute and beautiful graphic novel about a kitten. It follows the life of the kitten Chi. Chi gets lost and can't find her mom. Soon, she is found and rescued by a small family. Chi has small adventures as she learns how to live with a human family and makes a friend along the way. I feel my favorite character in this book is Chi, because of all her cuteness. This book contains volume 1, 2, and 3 of the Chi's Sweet Home series. The watercolor art in this book is beautiful. This book is good for kids and older people, if you are up for all the cuteness!
